Road trip top tip: Always let google map find you a scenic route. It’s well worth it, even if gmaps can’t pronounce Maori names

I was very lucky to get a couple of quick snaps of Mt Ngauruhoe from the Desert Road. Within a few minutes the cloud had completely obscured the peak.
