The half marathon that wasn’t

And then it was again (sort of)

Months of training over winter, regardless of rain, wind and pitch darkness. Entering a half-marathon for the first time in a long time was big motivation to get out there.

And then we went into lockdown #2. The half was cancelled (I was so looking forward to Lake Tekapo!) I was VERY annoyed.

Eventually I decided that I couldn’t let all that work be for nought, so I got out and ran 21.1 km anyway. Just at home instead. I even worked out how I could get a medal to show my “triumph” in adversity.

Maybe another time…
